About Me

Hi, I'm Stacy Lanier (she/they), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.

As a first-generation graduate, I bring a unique blend of systemic insight, technical expertise, and deep compassion to my work as a therapist. My academic journey includes an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from Columbus State University, and two Master’s degrees—one in Health Administration and the other in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.

Before transitioning to the mental health field, I spent a decade working in computer systems and network technology with major corporations. My experience in technology refined my ability to recognize patterns and disruptions in complex systems—an invaluable skill I now apply to family and relationship dynamics. Communication is at the core of technology and human connection, and I help individuals and families identify and restructure the narratives and attachment patterns that shape their interactions.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment-based theories, with a strong emphasis on Narrative Therapy, Bowen Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I recognize that culture, spirituality, and ethnicity deeply influence our lived experiences, and I integrate these perspectives into a collaborative, client-centered approach. I believe in the power of personal stories and work with clients to reframe negative thought patterns, fostering empowerment and authentic self-expression.

As someone with ADHD and autistic traits, I deeply understand the challenges of navigating neurodivergence in social and professional settings. This personal insight informs my work with individuals who experience similar struggles, creating a therapeutic space that is both validating and growth-oriented.

Above all, I believe in the potential for change and resilience. My collaborative style helps clients build self-awareness, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting transformation.
